It Is Useless To Resist Us! – ADDED DVD COVER ART

This DVD celebrates the 25th anniversary of this hugely influential and popular electronic pop act by giving fans a full live concert, their music videos (never before released on DVD), bonus archival footage and photos, and a brand new EP, all on one disc.

The live concert took place in Philadelphia in 2008 and featured James, Paul and Kurt in fantastic form. A German film crew shot the entire show from multiple angles and captured the fantastic energy of both the band and the audience. The track listing for the concert is:

It Is Useless To Resist Us1 Peace and Love, Inc.
2 Wrongful Death
3 The Seeds of Pain
4 Walking Away
5 Baby Just Wants
6 Burning Bridges
7 Think
8 Jonestown
9 Growing Up With Shiva
10 I Like The Way You Werk It
11 Run Away
12 Back in the Day (Old School Electro Version)
13 Running
14 Are ‘Friends’ Electric?
15 What’s On Your Mind (Pure Energy)

In addition to the full concert, the DVD contains all five videos released by the band during their time at Warner Records, available for the first time on DVD, taken directly from Warner’s archive masters. Bonus features include several photo montages, a video montage from their first tour of South America in the late 1980s, and a few other clips, including the infamous “Wall Street” video.

As if that wasn’t enough, the DVD also contains a full version of the band’s digital-only “Modulator” EP in MP3 format. Only available through digital download, this nine-track EP contains remixes from the Synthesizer album by such folks as Dave Aude’ and Tommie Sunshine, as well as a brand new track with Kurt on vocals (“Don’t Touch The Devil”) and a live recording of a track not previously available in stores (“Wrongful Death”).

This DVD is in NTSC format, which is the standard for American DVD players. Customers outside of North America using PAL or SECAM systems may or may not be able to view NTSC format. There is no Region Code on this DVD (Region Code 0).

The official release date for this product is October 20, 2009.

    Sweeeett!!!

  4. agt_dale_cooper Says:

I’d prefer to order this through here, like I did for Apocryphon. “Digital only” distribution STILL sucks, lacks bass. [Yes, some of us still have and use CD players.] For whatever it’s worth, I bought CDs of Apocryphon, Oscillator and Synthesizer….forcing us to adopt format after format just ANNOYS, will add this to the STACK of stuff I have to rip (I’m looking at YOU Rhino Depeche Mode remaster releases, with bonus tracks in DVD-A format only!!!!). If you haven’t inferred this already, would prefer release where DVD and Audio CDs coexist peacefully in same box, NO EXCLUSIVE TRACKS on one or the other…you could throw in an audio CD of the live show and make it a 3 disc, 2 audio, 1 DVD. Thoughts?

  5. Ricardo Dardetti Says:

yay! gonna buy for sure =)

  6. Colin McLeod Says:

    VERY exciting!!!

“the DVD contains all five videos released by the band during their time at Warner Records”

There were 6 videos released.. let me guess which one is excluded… How Long??

And I agree with agt_dale_cooper .. Physical CD release please!!!!!

  7. Elizabeth Says:

I can’t wait to pre-order it through this website because I’m all about supporting the HAKATAK Distribution Center and keeping it in business. :-)

vinyl, cassette,Cd,downloads, and now Dvd. THANK YOU!!!!! I have been waiting to relive this show since the car ride home!!!I LOVE THIS GROUP!

  10. DJ Marimba Says:

I will buy it for sure!!!!, this DVD will be incredible!!!

  11. Teknohed Says:

I bought the CDs as well, and I agree that Digital only is kind of lame. But come on foggies. CD is basically dead. I’m glad that I didn’t buy the EP on iTunes yet. This DVD will give me a chance to get the EP without having to sully my PC with all that apple software nonsense.

But it wouldn’t be the internet if I didn’t complain about something. So here’s my best effort. If you’re going to put the EP on here why not a nice DVD 5.1 surround mix? Just a thought. I don’t really care, I’ll be glad to have the MP3z and even more excited to have a place to watch the original videos that doesn’t involve me digging my VCR out of the closet. DEATH TO OUTDATED MEDIA FORMATS!

When do we get our InSoc branded Zunes?

I AM IN RADIO CONTACT! [Still trying to figure out why this says "Outer Limits" instead of "The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951)" Must investigate this Outer Limits episode...]

While it isn’t ordering from here, why not try DFD? See http://www.dancing-ferret.com/ , hit the preorder link at bottom, save $0.50 over Amazon, get money at least a little closer to where it should be :)
    Postage is $2.90 for first-class.
Hope this makes somebody feel better…I did after ordering.

  22. agt_dale_cooper Says:

[Puzzled]….isn’t TDTESS (1951). I could SWEAR I’ve heard this sample recently, and the only older stuff I’ve watched of late is TDTESS (both), Twilight Zone Seasons 1-5 and Wonder Woman Seasons 1 – 3.[/Puzzled]

Anyway, froggot to quote from the Dancing Ferret / ISO Tank page: “The official release date for this product is October 20, 2009. However, we expect to begin shipping this release on October 6, 2009.”

    Sweet. Overandout…

  23. AnimusWar Says:

wow, several months back i tried to find insoc.org and it was a ghost town. no idea this newer stuff was coming. long time fan, even have the INSOC CD+V disc from the SEGA CD system. guess they’re going back to their “roots”, but damn i love “don’t be afraid”…it’s scary.

  24. Andrew Says:

AnimusWar – yeah, I have it, too! That’s actually how I discovered the existence of INSOC – and James’ favorite chili recipe! :D

The DVD is dream come true!

Plus: My girlfriend is now convinced that going to your next concert is a must. Be it fly, drive, or crawl, we’ll be there. Thanks for letting me relive Philly…”Any time I want To!!”

  26. Chris a.k.a. VeRn Says:

This DVD is the best thing ever.
Although it fails in comparison to actually being there Live, it is still good to have this collection and performance.
Has anyone found any hidden “Easter Eggs” yet?

  27. Matthew Saint Says:

  31. mike Says:

    Felipe your a loser

  32. Felipe (Brazil) Says:

    DVD insoc trash!
    Kurt Trash!

  33. Felipe (Brazil) Says:

    Insoc = loser

  34. sMurph Says:

took five minutes for that wisdom? Anyone else seen the DVD? “Trash” and “loser” are certainly two words I would not use to describe this well made production.

  38. Gail Says:

My “Kurt, Do the Robot!” sign is now immortalized. Thank You.

(Long time fan — saw you guys in Deland, FL in ’92. In 2008, found out about the concert the day-of. Luckily I live 10 minutes from the venue….

Me: “I have to make a sign that’ll piss off Kurt!”
Husband (who doesn’t know of you guys): “Why do you want to make him mad if you like the band so much?”
    Me: “You’ll see… it’ll be funny.”

Kurt’s reaction: “And you… you can keep wishing!” *priceless*

Happy pre B-day Kurt (I can only remember it cuz we have the same bday)
