Baby just wanna move her body, but we just want Kurt to sing on key! OMG… What the HELL happened to Christopher Anton??? I’ve been an In-Soc fan from “back in the day” and was not happy about Kurt not being the lead on the new album… until I actually heard the album “Synthesizer”. I thought he was a brilliant choice and he was sooo good, I accepted him 100%. Then you get rid of him and bring back Kurt??? I am NOT happy camper! I accepted a “new chapter” for In-Soc. I was SOO waiting for another album with Chris. I think this is a major F-up! Now I already bought a 2 freakin’ tickets to your show this weekend and would have to listen to Kurt sing these great new songs all off key?!!! I would rather sell these tickets now and go see Billy Idol, DEVO, the Furs, etc, at Jacks Third Show. Thanks for the total let down. : (

Oh suck it up loser! You like insoc no matter what past and present right? How can you call yourself a fan? You need to chill out dude. On another note nice video of walking away….i love that song

  4. OMG...LOLZ!!! Says:

I was at that Philly show, which was so much FUN! I don’t give a crap about who the lead singer is, as long as he shows up on stage as scheduled. :D

I’m looking forward to another AMAZING show this Saturday! :D

  5. sMurph Says:

Ah…Hang on a minute. Off key? Sell your tickets? If you were a fan since “Back in the day” you would be so stoked that you were going to see Insoc live you would not say such things. I was at Philly and it was the greatest. The whole point of Insoc (I always thought) was that everything they brought to the table was “New and Different”. I agree Mr. Anton was a perfect match,as a “replacement”. But the original is here! Look at it this way: It’s and old(best)school take on a new song.

  6. sMurph Says:

P.S. KURT RULES! I would buy an album of him dictating the phone book.(on or off key!)One of a kind vocals!

  7. dmjerbear Says:

So is this a precursor to the announcement of the DVD release date???

  8. s Says:

    God I hope so!

I am a fan, just an honest one. Iâ??ve seen In-Soc several times over the years. I have just about everything they have done, including the new (old) Apocryphon. I have liked Kurt all these years too, but recently I have a few bones to pick with him. I was not impressed with his take on the VH-1 â??reunionâ? and him refusing to participate when all the other members did participate, DESPITE how â??show businessyâ? it was. Paul asked him to be a part of the new album, and he passed, save for the one song. Then the album comes out and itâ??s better than anything theyâ??ve ever done (IMHO), so then Kurt wants back in. It makes him look like a spoiled child. He was supposedly happy working on video games, fine. He should have let the band go on without him, again this is MY opinion. I have appreciation for artistic integrity and demand quality from what I pay for. I am not a mindless liming. If it sucks, I say so, if itâ??s awesome I not only say so, but I support and promote, and cheer. So just showing up or â??reading a phonebookâ? is not good enough for me. Also itâ??s funny how on fan sites people will defend the indefensible as if the band is going to call you and invite you to hang out with them for being staunchly devout. For some this is ok, and thatâ??s fine. I just have higher expectations. Watch that â??Baby Just Wantsâ? video again, can you really praise that awful rendition? And please, someone take the drumstick and pad away from Kurt; he butchered the song all the way through and then hacked away at it further at the end. Kurt, please rehearse before the show.

It took you this long to realize that Chris has not been available to do shows with InSoc because he’s been busy working on his solo project and that it just might be the reason why Kurt has been stepping in? You should have complained about it under these two posts with videos from May 2007:

    http://informationsociety.us/2007/05/09/237/

    http://informationsociety.us/2007/06/02/256/

And to get back on topic, I really hope a DVD of *any* recent InSoc show is released in the near future because I ain’t gettin’ any younger.

  11. sMurph Says:

Being at that particular show perhaps has influenced my quick defense of that particular song. Was that song album perfect,no.Was it still entertaining?Yes.I by no means am looking for a conflict.I just felt that even though Kurt was clearly not up to speed on the new material,it was over all fantastic. As far as the whole VH1 thing goes,I think that was addressed somewhere in the Website archives.Personally,I’m just glad Insoc still lives on!

  12. sMurph Says:

Just watched “Baby Just Wants” a couple more times.Yup, still awesome. Despite it looking like ass kissing, I just really love these guys! Sorry.

  13. DBVD Says:

    Thanks “:-)”

I went back and read both those threads: I’m still in the dark about Kurt vs. Chris: Is Kurt just filling in until Chris can get caught up and then he will rejoin In-Soc? If so, that was MIGHTY nice of Kurt and under that scenario, I would greatly applaud and respect him.

Also to all the fans, I just want to say again that I have always really liked Kurt. I was WAY impressed when I saw them in San Francisco way back when, and Kurt did the whole show wearing roller-skates! I remember reading something somewhere about Kurt going two years wearing them has his primary footwear, interesting; and him wearing them during the show â??? awesome! One of my fondest concert going experiences.

Kurt’s work (and Paul’s and anyone else who worked) on “Hack”, was PERFECT! That has been my favorite In-Soc album, and I still listen to it often. That album is a true work of art, IMO. I donâ??t know how that album did sales wise, but if it didnâ??t do well, I think it might have had something to do with the album artworkâ?¦ WAY TOO MUCH GEEKDOM, WAY TOO MUCH NURDISM. I know it sounds lame on my part, but I didnâ??t buy that album for YEARS, and I figured out later it just â??geeked me outâ? so. But the fact is, once I did buy it, I quickly discovered that album was, and still is, a masterpiece.

THANK YOU KURT FOR EVERYTHING YOU’VE DONE WITH IN-SOC!

i love all insoc, that why i really really really hope you play at least something off DBA. closing in? on the outside? something, please.

  15. DBVD Says:

I just want to offer Kurt an apology at this time. Christopher Anton has posted a blog on his MySpace page that explains the split with In-Soc. It had nothing to do with Chris being muscled out of the band, and there is no animosity between any of the guys. Rather, there are very noble reasons related to Chris’ personal life for the parting. Please check out Christopher ANTON’s MySpace for the truth:

    http://www.myspace.com/christopheranton

I did however say elsewhere here that if Kurt came back for other reasons, I truly respect him for that, and that IS the case, so once again THANK YOU KURT! I hope Paul, Kurt, and James all realize what a special and rare privilege it is to be a part of an iconic band with solid following; keep making albums, keep touring.

If the Stones can do it, why not you?

  16. AngelEyes Says:

I just wanted to put in a few words here…

First let me thank you DBVD for putting up a link to Chris’s blog…if you haven’t read it yet it gives a little bit of insight into an unwelcomed personal challenge that came his way while working with InSoc. Please take the time and read it…

    http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=6225977&blogID=437700195

I am a close friend of Christoher ANTON’S…and I felt it important to say that Chris never actually “left” the band. In fact he wanted nothing more than to continue working with them. I am sure it has been difficult on everyone involved and probably a bit confusing to the fans. To this day he still shows his support to them and shares how great it was recording and performing with James and Paul. He even showed up to a recent show of there’s to say hello and give his support…and was pleased to meet Kurt for the first time, someone he has admired since the 80’s.

What I don’t understand is what is up with the snide remarks directed towards Chris during shows and picture comments?? Does he really deserve that?? “life” happened just like it does for everyone of us and he made the best choice for him and his personal concerns. He is not a bad person, but a hard working, dedicated, caring and loving man and father with feelings…why can’t we just all get along and play nice??

Don’t get me wrong…I have always been a fan of Information Society and every member that has been a part of it…and I always will! I love the fact that they are back!! I adore James, Paul, Kurt and Chris…each of them have brought there own special personality and talent to the band that’s what makes the music so great!!

Chris was chosen for a specific reason to be the new lead singer for InSoc…he brought his own personality and talent to the band and he did a fantastic job on “Oscillator” and “Synthesizer”…he wasn’t trying to “replace” kurt at all, in fact he knew he was going to have to make a pretty darn good impression for the fans to accept him…and the majority do! What I’m trying to say is…give him credit where it is due…don’t erase him, don’t put him down…and we shouldn’t compare Chris and Kurt…they both have a special place and time with InSoc.

    Am I alone on this??

  17. sMurph Says:

Just so you know: When Synthesizer came out,I made a point to say how perfect a fit Mr. Anton was.I can’t seem to find past comments on this page :( By “replacement”,I figured since he was the newest, he had replaced the last. No “snide” comments here.

  18. Inphi Says:

HEY GUYS, CAN SOMEONE REVEAL THE SETLIST OF THE LA SHOW?

  19. AngelEyes Says:

the snide comments I was actually refferring to aren’t exactly coming from this page. I have seen them in the past under pictures and other places…some have been deleted but there are still a few out there…I believe one to be under the InSoc myspace pictures. And comments made during the actual live performances…some people can take them wrong…it’s just not cool in my opinion.

I ALSO thought Chris was a perfect fit for the Information Society comeback…in fact I met him after Kurt had come back and was very pleased to find he was continueing with solo work…I couldn’t bare to think of not hearing his sexy and sensual voice again!!

…the great gain I suppose from all of this is that we have our Information Society AND have had the pleasure of being introduced to another fine musical artist of synth/electonic/pop/alternative or whatever the H*LL you wanna call it :D

  20. hdgrubb Says:

………and we paid good goddamn money to fly to west palm beach to see you guys perform live. i can’t believe you canceled the show. i can’t believe it
