This album was quite an oddity: First, I don’t think it should have been branded an “In-Soc” work; it was more like a Kurt solo project. It does not have the In-Soc sound or feel, at all, and thatâ??s because Paul had nothing to do with it. I also didnâ??t like the â??actingâ? in Kurtâ??s monologs throughout the album: they would have worked, had there been truth and passion it their delivery, but instead they were just distracting and irritating and frankly just sounded dumb.
The first 3 tracks are outstanding, (with the exception of many of the sound patches that were used are very weak and rather old school “Casio” like. It would be awesome to hear how Paul could work with Kurt to re-work, at least these first three tracks, into true In-Soc quality versions (hint, hint). ; )
The rest of the tracks… not good; again, IMO.
However, on a â??brighter sideâ?, and on a personal note, I am VERY grateful to Kurt for putting this album out, and when he did. That period in my life was the utter darkest days in my existence to date; I don’t know how I survived them, I almost did not. But the tone and lyrics to those first three songs were as if they were scored just for me, and just to provide the soundtrack to my personal downward spiral, occurring at that exact time in my life. These three songs actually provided me a kind of therapy that I didnâ??t, and couldnâ??t, get anywhere else.
Again, my blunt, honest, constructive, and PERSONALLY OPINIONATED criticisms aside…
THANK YOU KURT for those three songs.
Thank you VERY much!
They were clearly worth the price of the whole album to me, and much more.

This is one of my favorite albums of all time.
I agree that this is not a “Typical” Information Society album, but that is what makes it so interesting is that it is a direct representation of what “Information Society” was at the time it was produced.
I am glad that Kurt put it out as an INSOC album and not a solo album.
The history books are much better off with a deep dark INSOC CD then they would have been with a CD put out by the “Kurt Harland Project”.
Thanks for the re-mix and the new song, I like them both but I still don’t think the new song fits on the album…
For those of you who missed it, the show at the Viper Room was nothing less then incredible..

Total agreement in regards toward the album. My original (90′s) copy is so worn out, the final three tracks won’t play! This is perfect timing! Ordered two copies yesterday! OH YA!

What can I say about this album,
I was living in St. Louis at the time when I found out Kurt was about to put this album out without out Paul. I didn’t care, been an Inso fan since ’88. I purchased the album the day it went on sale, and was not disappointed. I still have my original cd copy. As soon apple came out w/ ipod and itunes, my copy was soon uploaded into my mp3 player. Still listen to it to this day. Now I’m excited about the re-issue version w/ two new tracks. Can’t wait to get it.
Oh by the way “Chris a.k.a. VeRn”, you lucky bastard! I’m so jealous. I just found out this past Wednesday the band was in Austin, TX not too long ago. If I would of known, would of taken the 3 hr trip from Dallas to see them.
COME TO DALLAS!!!

Hate to be that “person”, but…”White Roses” is listed as track 10. In Fact on my copy it is 11. No biggie.Acustic Society?GREAT!THE SONG IS GREAT!Why was the most lyrical, thought provoking song left for the mystery tour back in ’97? Yes, I am about to do some butt snorkeling: Just want to let the whole group know that even if it took however long, I would buy my share of copies to make it worth while. Between Paul’s “shiva”’08 and Kurt’s”white roses”, my head implodes! PLEASE……….

…….Mr. Cassidy, Mr.Robb, and of course, Mr.Harland, you guys can do it! One more album from the greatest line up.I realize the band is not forefront in your lives any longer.Yet you all know ho to use the tech’ of today. Even if you made it by E-Mailing one another, it would be Information that I would “want to know.” Oh-ya, LOVE the DBA copy I am know playing at MAX volume! Thanks for being “Still Here”!(Favorite song)

DBA is very underappreciated. For many years I have fought with rabid chatroom lurkers and upheld the work. Where it lacks luster in my opinion is the cluttery noise and scratchy lead-ins to the tracks. I have often considered trying to cut the intros to somewhere before the songs get meaty and melodic. Glad to see DBA is not to be written off!

Ozar Midrashim… the very best music track i have ever known.
its a shame that hardly any one reolises who made it as it more known for being the main theam to legacy of kain…
but what an intro it makes. oh the adrenalin that rushes theough you. it trully is an unearthly track.
